 : : : Basic Operation : : :

Drag from Inventory onto ground nearby. Image slideshow begins, by default.
Touch the panel and select Pause from menu.
Explain how the first image shows a location in Second Life, and that they can receive a notecard about each location by touching the panel when that location is displayed.
Touch the panel again and select Play to start the slideshow.

 : : : Features : : :

    * Panel rotates to face the owner automatically on resolution (on rez)
    * Panel can be rotated, raised, lowered, by clicking on the edges
    * Images can be shown one by one, or as a slide show, as controlled by the owner
    * Image displays on front and rear side of panel
    * Images are pre-cached (resolve quickly, less gray delay)
    * A notecard can be accompanied by several images
    * Notecards are offered to any avatar that clicks on a picture
    * Controls offered in menu on owner's touch
    * Chat commands available
    * Panel auto-deletes after one hour; if you leave it behind, it will clean up after you are gone.
    * Variables in script allow for user to customize some features as "preferences" (see "Preference settings" section, below)
    * The "Purge" command allows you to easily delete all images and location-specific notecards from the object. Since this action has such drastic effect, it has been made available by chat command only, preventing the accidental click of a button in the menu. (Select Help from the Main Menu to see chat command instructions which include the "Purge" command.)
    * Testing mode: Allows an owner to act as a guest (non-owner) to ensure that notecards are delivered correctly. This property can be turned on with the menu, and turned off by using a chat command.

 : : : Detailed Instructions : : :

1) Drag a copy of the panel onto the ground nearby; some information is written into Chat and a menu is presented. Notice that the panel rotates to face you.

2) Position the panel for best viewing by your guests: Raise and lower the panel - then rotate it left and right - by touching the panel's face out near the edge. (This only occurs when the owner touches the panel at the edge.)

3) Set your image presentation preferences.

The slideshow can be stopped by selecting pause.
The interval can be made faster or slower using the menu.

Images of SL locations are displayed sequentially, in alphabetical order by image name, advancing automatically after a default interval. Some preferences can be set permanently in the script, so that the panel rezzes with the configuration you like. These include:

  - default interval (in seconds) between images
  - whether the location (image's name) is displayed on the panel
  - which channel is used for chat commands
  - auto-delete interval (default is 3600 seconds, or one hour)

  : : : Content : : :

Notecards and images can be changed by the panel's owner. Once a suitable content set is loaded, modify the name of the panel so that it is unique from the original, and take it back into Inventory. Rez a copy of the panel with the new content set and confirm that the notecards offered match each image by selecting "TestPanel" from menu (notice instructions provided at that time for exiting test mode).

Each notecard should contain information that is specific to the location seen in the image. Each image should be named similarly to the notecard it accompanies.

 : : : Menu Options : : :
